Job Description:
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ROLE
The role involves management and development of the AML KYC Shared Service team. The AML KYC Shared Services team will provide a Customer Due Diligence (CDD) service to State Street business entities. The team will be tasked with verifying the documentation sourced by the State Street business entities to verify the identity of their customers, the team will be responsible for risk profiling those customers from a money-laundering perspective and completing periodic money-laundering risk reviews. As this is a developing team there may be a requirement to take on additional responsibility, candidates need to be willing embrace these requirements.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing and manage a team responsible for accurate and timely delivery of service to State Street, overseeing KYC operations and ensure compliance with these requirements. Provide leadership to the teams and build a strong commercial and customer centric culture.
Assist in requirements definition for software systems and tools and implementing technology solutions. Ingenuity in adopting or creating a document management and reporting system is essential.
Ensure KYC Business Unit SLA standards are in place and that each Business unit has an approved SLA in place.
Ensure procedures and Guidance are written, in line with local regulations and guidelines, regularly reviewed and maintained in line with changing regulations or requirements.
Provide inputs into Global re-engineering initiatives e.g. Global Minimum Standard design for a process and ensure that these are deployed across markets in close partnership with business and service delivery teams and the AML transformation teams.
Ensuring compliance with all of the AML processes and controls set out by the AML Program and Compliance. This will include, but not be limited to; the completion of CDD documentation for all customers; AML risk assessments; Reporting on KRIs and KPIs and Enhanced Due diligence.
Drive service excellence through operational oversight of site KYC teams and deliver quality, risk, people and financial performance targets.
Participate in regular service reviews, audits and self-testing to meet the targets agreed for performance , quality and compliance
Ensure that the team have a flexible and adaptable approach to work loads and requirements
To continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management restructures, and the impact of new technology in conjunction with other Group companies.
Motivate the team in a challenging environment and assist the team in facilitating greater efficiency and timely production of high quality KYC profiles.
Interfacing with external parties - for example Client Liaison Group, Compliance, Front Office and Relationship Managers where applicable especially on matters that involve escalation of pending and ageing profiles.
Provide adequate training from a client due diligence perspective and develop a team of world class KYC professionals.
Ability to resolve queries pertaining to high risk items with in tight time frames.
Keep abreast of developments within the financial regulatory environment and proactively educate the team on the same.
Work with the peer sites to share best practices or provide the required support.
Ensuring that MIS is prepared, reviewed and delivered to management
Make sure that the team are engaged and set clear measurable goals
Qualifications:
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in Risk and Operations Management and broad understanding of CMB & RBWM business.
10+ years of work experience related to the banking and financial services organization.
Excellent understanding of KYC, financial regulatory environment and AML risk implications
Ability to interpret complex changes in regulatory guidelines and assess impact.
Ability to deploy practical, cost effective operational solutions to complex global issues related to KYC policy and framework change.
Experience of interpreting and analyzing a large volume of information and / or data and provide succinct summary for management.
Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
Should be effective in guidance, leadership and stakeholder management.
Experience of managing crisis situations and take appropriate / timely decisions
Ability to work well under pressure with high degree of accuracy.
Self- Motivated and Ability to inspire others - capable of leading and motivating a team of high potential individuals into new challenges.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and a flexible approach to working hours and responsibilities
